RENDERING IN SKIPTON

Known as the "Gateway to the Dales", Skipton is a thriving market town surrounded by stone-built period homes, farmhouses and rural properties, as well as newer developments on its edges. Rendering in Skipton from Transform Render Systems gives these homes a durable, attractive finish that stands up to the exposed Yorkshire Dales climate.

We apply a full range of render systems across Skipton and the surrounding villages, from hard-wearing silicone and monocouche renders to traditional sand and cement and pebbledash. With a wide choice of colours and textures, we can deliver a clean modern look or a more traditional finish that suits the town's heritage character.

Properties on the edge of the Dales take a battering from wind-driven rain and cold winters, so weatherproofing matters. A correctly specified render sheds water, resists cracking and fading and keeps walls looking their best, while external wall insulation can make older, solid-wall homes significantly warmer and cheaper to run.

As a complete building and finishing company, we can manage your whole project from start to finish. Skipton clients often pair rendering with interior plastering or larger building works such as extensions and dormer conversions, all handled by one experienced, fully insured team.

Transform Render Systems is K Rend approved with over 20 years' experience and full insurance. We're based in Colne, a short drive away, and also serve neighbouring Clitheroe and the Ribble Valley – call 07849 496810 for a free quote.

Render systems

Our render systems

Every Skipton property is different, so we recommend the system that suits your walls, your budget and the look you want.

  1. 01

    Silicone render

Through-coloured, water-repellent and breathable, with a finish that stays cleaner for longer. A popular low-maintenance choice.

  2. 02

    K Rend & coloured renders

As K Rend approved applicators we apply through-coloured render systems that don't need painting.

  3. 03

    Monocouche

    A one-coat, through-coloured render with a scraped texture – quick to apply and hard-wearing.

  4. 04

    Sand & cement

Traditional render for a painted finish, for repairs, or for matching existing work on older homes.

  5. 05

    Pebbledash & roughcast

Classic textured finishes, applied new or patched to match what's already there.

  6. 06

    External wall insulation

Insulation boards, basecoat and mesh finished in render to make solid-wall homes warmer and cheaper to heat.

FAQs

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Can't see your question? Call us on 07849 496810 or send us a message and we'll get back to you.

Do you travel to Skipton from Colne?

Yes. Skipton is around half an hour from our base in Colne, and we also cover the surrounding villages including Embsay, Carleton, Gargrave, Cononley and Broughton.

Can render suit a stone property in Skipton?

Yes. Through-coloured renders come in warm, natural tones and a range of textures, so a rendered extension or elevation can sit comfortably next to local stone. On stone walls we use breathable systems so moisture can still escape.

Do I need planning permission to render my house in Skipton?

Re-rendering a wall that is already rendered is usually fine. Rendering over bare brick or stone for the first time can need planning permission, and in a conservation area or the Yorkshire Dales National Park the rules are stricter. North Yorkshire Council's planning team can confirm the position for your address, and we'll flag anything we spot when we quote.

How long does it take to render a house?

Most full house renders take around one to two weeks, including scaffolding, preparation, basecoats and the finish coat. Exposed sites on the edge of the Dales can be affected by the weather. We'll give you a clear schedule before work starts.
